[Remote] Solutions Engineer - US Federal - Cloud and AI Infrastructure

The Solutions Engineer will lead presales efforts for Cloud and AI Infrastructure solutions across Federal government sectors, acting as a subject matter expert and engaging in hands-on activities to drive customer success.
Responsibilities
- Lead presales efforts for Cisco's Cloud and AI Infrastructure solutions across Federal government sectors by identifying client needs and tailoring AI solutions to meet them
- Serve as the subject matter expert in Data Center, AI Compute, Storage, and Networking to design and showcase solutions that enhance customer business operations
- Engage in hands-on presales activities, including delivering demonstrations, leading workshops, and creating architectural designs that highlight the value of Cisco's offerings
- Build awareness and drive enthusiasm for AI among internal sales teams, partners, and customers by effectively promoting the tactical and technical benefits of AI products
- Act as the crucial link between technical teams, account teams, and customers to design, develop, and promote AI solutions while navigating and solving complex challenges (requires over 25% travel)
Skills
- * This position will perform work that the U.S. government has specified can only be performed by a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil.*
- 5+ years of experience with any combination of Datacenter Networking, Storage, Compute, Apps, Big Data, Converged, Hyper-Converged, and AI infrastructure
- 5+ years of experience architecting and deploying networking, compute, or storage technologies, including the design of traditional DC standalone networking and spine-and-leaf architectures
- Significant expertise in end-to-end architecture and design for public, private, and hybrid cloud solutions, including Virtualization, X86 Architectures, and Operating Systems
- Extensive experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) in a pre-sales or post-sales consulting capacity
- Active U.S. Government Secret or higher clearance, coupled with 5+ years of presales experience in the Federal Market
- CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure (RS) or CCIE Data Center certification, plus a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Hands-on AI experience with vendors like Nvidia, VAST, Pure, Qumulo, Microsoft, Dell, NetApp, or HPE, and a deep understanding of how compute/network infrastructure enables AI workloads
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes) for scalable and efficient model deployment
- Excellent presentation skills with expert knowledge of networking protocols, enabling you to deliver engaging workshops to both technical and non-technical audiences

- 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next
- Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members
- Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer
- For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco’s policies.
- Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan.
- For quota-based sales roles on Cisco’s sales plan, the ranges provided in this posting include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.
- Employees in Illinois, whether exempt or non-exempt, will participate in a unique time off program to meet local requirements.
