[Remote] Senior Biostatistician / Real-World Evidence (RWE) Data Scientist

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Right Fit Advisors is seeking experienced Senior Real-World Data (RWD) Scientists / Analytics Consultants to lead the design, execution, and delivery of high-impact real-world evidence (RWE) studies. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in observational research, advanced statistical programming, and healthcare data analytics, and will independently lead complex projects while collaborating across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, design, and execution of Real-World Data (RWD) analyses
  • Develop technical specifications, statistical analysis plans, and study methodologies
  • Independently program, validate, and analyze complex healthcare datasets using SAS, R, SQL, and/or Python
  • Design patient cohorts and validate key study variables
  • Ensure methodological rigor, quality control, and adherence to best practices
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations
  • Collaborate with epidemiologists, statisticians, clinicians, and cross-functional teams
  • Present complex analytical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Contribute to protocol development, manuscripts, and technical documentation
  • Track project progress using tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps (ADO)

Skills

  • Expert-level proficiency in SAS or R, along with SQL (mandatory)
  • Strong programming skills with the ability to write reusable packages, develop specifications, and work with complex data structures
  • Experience with advanced analytical methods, including: Propensity Score Matching (PSM), Lines of Therapy (LOT), Sankey Diagrams, Machine Learning (LASSO, Decision Trees, Random Forest, XGBoost)
  • Experience with OHDSI or DARWIN tools in R
  • Experience with OMOP Common Data Model (CDM) or similar frameworks
  • Strong understanding of epidemiology, observational research, and study design
  • Experience working with biomarker and genomic datasets
  • Hands-on experience with healthcare databases, including: Claims Data (Optum, MarketScan, Pharmetrics+, HealthVerity, CPRD) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) (IQVIA, Flatiron, ConcertAI, TriNetX)
  • Knowledge of US and international healthcare data sources
  • Experience with psychometric validation for clinical trial analyses is a plus
  • Master's degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field with 5–8 years of post-graduate experience, OR PhD with 3+ years of relevant post-graduate experience
  • Proven expertise in statistical programming and observational research methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects within a matrixed organization
  • Strong project management, prioritization, and communication skills
  • Oncology observational research
  • Flatiron and ConcertAI datasets
  • Lines of Therapy (LOT) programming
  • Cloud-based SQL
  • Clinico-genomic and multimodal datasets (e.g., Tempus AI)
  • UK Biobank or similar population biobank data
  • Strong experience with SAS and SQL (R is a plus)
  • Cost analysis
  • Burden of illness studies
  • Comparative effectiveness research
  • Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) methodologies
  • Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization tools
  • Experience working in fast-paced, matrixed environments with multiple concurrent projects
