[Remote] Legal Assistant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Zelms Erlich Lenkov is a litigation firm serving individuals and businesses across multiple states. The Legal Assistant will support attorneys with various litigation tasks, manage case files, and assist with legal research and document management.
Responsibilities
- Support attorneys with day-to-day litigation tasks
- Preparing, formatting, and proofreading legal documents
- Managing case files
- Organizing evidence and discovery materials
- Maintaining calendars and deadlines
- Coordinating communication with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- Conducting basic legal and factual research
- Updating case management systems
- Assisting with electronic filing and document management using firm-approved technology tools
Skills
- Strong legal administrative skills, including document preparation, file management, scheduling, and deadline tracking
- Proficiency with legal technology tools such as case management software, electronic filing systems, and document management platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and proofreading
- Ability to conduct basic legal and factual research using online databases and public records, and to summarize findings clearly
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced litigation environment
- Comfort working independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively with attorneys and team members across jurisdictions
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, professional ethics, and client service standards
- Associate's degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience in a legal support role preferred
- Prior experience as a Legal Assistant, Litigation Assistant, or Paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department is highly beneficial
