Responsibilities
- Conducting legal research
- Preparing and responding to motions and pleadings
- Attending hearings and court appearances
- Reviewing and summarizing various records
- Meeting with clients
- Propounding/responding to written discovery
- Taking and defending depositions
- Trial opportunities also exist
Skills
- Active member of the State Bar of California (Will consider an applicant who is pending bar results)
- 0-6 years of experience in civil litigation, criminal law and/or family law preferred
- Excellent writing and proofreading skills
- The ability to communicate effectively and handle multiple priorities in a timely and professional manner
- Bilinguality is a positive
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Lexis/Nexis, and familiarity with Smokeball or Clio is a positive
- Admission to and familiarity with US District Court litigation is helpful
- Experience drafting discovery, pleadings, dispositive motions, and trial preparation
