[Remote] IT & Cyber Security Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. OnTrac is hiring an IT & Cyber Security Engineer! The role is responsible for protecting the organization’s systems, networks, and data from cyber threats, developing security policies, monitoring for vulnerabilities, and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Develop security controls: Create, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard systems and data
- Monitor and assess risk: Monitor networks and systems for vulnerabilities, suspicious activity, and potential breaches; conduct security assessments, penetration tests, and risk analyses
- Respond to incidents: Investigate security incidents, document findings, and support remediation efforts to reduce future risk
- Manage security tools: Support firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection tools to strengthen the organization’s security posture
- Ensure compliance: Help maintain alignment with regulatory frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS
- Partner with IT teams: Collaborate with technology teams to integrate security into system architecture and application development
- Promote security awareness: Provide employee security awareness training and stay current on emerging threats, technologies, and cybersecurity trends
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, information security, IT security, or a related field
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks
- Experience with penetration testing and security assessments
- Experience implementing and maintaining security policies, procedures, and controls
