[Remote] GitHub Enterprise Platform Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Idexcel is an IT services organization, and they are seeking a GitHub Enterprise Platform Engineer. The role involves administering GitHub Enterprise, configuring policies, managing security, and integrating with various platforms.
Responsibilities
- Administer GitHub Enterprise Cloud (EMU) or Server, including organizations, teams, SAML/SCIM SSO, and enterprise governance
- Configure repository policies, branch protections, CODEOWNERS, templates, and policy-as-code using Terraform or GitHub APIs
- Deploy and manage GitHub Actions, self-hosted runners (ARC/ Kubernetes), reusable workflows, OIDC authentication, and deployment protection rules
- Administer GitHub Advanced Security (CodeQL, Dependabot, Secret Scanning), create custom CodeQL queries, and enforce security gates
- Develop automation using GitHub REST/GraphQL APIs, GitHub CLI, GitHub Apps, and webhooks
- Integrate GitHub with Jira, ServiceNow, Slack/Teams, artifact repositories, and observability platforms
- Lead migrations from GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins to GitHub using GitHub Enterprise Importer
- Implement GitHub Copilot governance, developer self-service platforms, and reporting for DORA metrics, Actions usage, and security posture
Skills
- 5+ years of DevOps experience with 3+ years of hands-on GitHub Enterprise Administration
- Expertise in GitHub Actions, GitHub Enterprise Cloud/Server, GitHub Advanced Security, Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD, GitHub APIs, and GitHub CLI
- Experience with Jenkins migration, identity providers (Entra ID/Okta), and GitHub billing/usage governance
