[Remote] Executive Director, Brand Marketing & Reputation

They are seeking an Executive Director of Brand Marketing & Reputation to lead the corporate brand strategy, oversee integrated marketing campaigns, and enhance stakeholder engagement while protecting and advancing Amgen's reputation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Amgen's corporate brand strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities, culture, and long-term reputation goals
- Serve as steward of the Amgen brand, driving consistency across communications, experiences, and visual identity
- Lead brand governance and oversee initiatives that strengthen awareness, trust, and engagement among key stakeholders
- Partner with Communications and Data & Insights teams to monitor reputation trends, identify risks, and develop proactive strategies that strengthen trust and resilience
- Provide strategic oversight for brand programs connected to the Amgen Foundation and ESG priorities
- Lead corporate brand marketing programs and integrated campaigns that increase awareness, strengthen reputation, and deepen stakeholder engagement
- Partner with Digital, Social, Media, and Communications teams to develop audience-centric marketing and amplification strategies
- Oversee paid media investments that support corporate storytelling, executive visibility, talent attraction, and business priorities
- Leverage audience insights, analytics, and performance data to optimize campaign effectiveness and measure impact
- Lead Amgen's enterprise content strategy and oversee the Amgen Newsroom as the company's flagship owned media platform
- Direct editorial strategy, multimedia production, content publishing, and storytelling efforts that showcase Amgen's science, innovation, culture, and patient impact
- Lead a centralized editorial, creative, and multimedia services organization supporting teams across Corporate Affairs
- Establish intake, prioritization, governance, and resource allocation processes that ensure support is aligned with enterprise priorities
- Oversee communications technology platforms and drive adoption of emerging capabilities, including AI-enabled tools, to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and audience engagement
- Lead and develop a high-performing team spanning brand marketing, newsroom operations, content strategy, creative services, multimedia production, and communications operations
- Build strong partnerships across Corporate Affairs, Commercial, R&D, Human Resources, Legal, Government Affairs, and the Amgen Foundation
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Champion talent development, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness
Skills
- Doctorate degree & 6 years of corporate communications, brand marketing, corporate affairs, content strategy, or related disciplines experience OR
- Master's degree & 10 years of corporate communications, brand marketing, corporate affairs, content strategy, or related disciplines experience OR
- Bachelor's degree & 12 years of corporate communications, brand marketing, corporate affairs, content strategy, or related disciplines experience AND
- 6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
- Experience leading enterprise brand, marketing, reputation, and content organizations
- Expertise in brand marketing, audience engagement, and integrated campaign development
- Experience leading cross-functional teams spanning marketing, editorial, creative, digital, and communications disciplines
- Experience building and managing shared services or centralized operating models
- Experience leading communications, content, marketing, or digital technology transformations
- Understanding of digital publishing, content management, analytics, marketing technology, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities
- Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills
- Experience within biotechnology, healthcare, life sciences, or other highly regulated industries
- Experience leading newsroom, owned media, corporate publishing, or integrated content organizations
- Advanced degree in communications, marketing, business, journalism, or a related field
