[Remote] Assistant Vice President - Data Analytics - AI Enablement - Remote
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Symetra is seeking an Assistant Vice President to join a fast-growing team of builders inside their Data Analytics organization, the AI Enablement team. This role involves leading cross-functional teams, setting strategy, and owning delivery for AI integration across the company.
Responsibilities
- Own the strategy, roadmap, and business impact for your part of AI Enablement including key performance indicators and return on investment
- Lead several teams and the managers who run them
- Partner with senior leaders across the organization to translate AI into plans and roadmaps for technical and non-technical audiences
- Use good judgment on when to apply AI vs a simpler solution, and stay close enough to the technology to guide builders
- Grow leaders and stay close to the work to guide technical decisions and uphold high standards
Skills
- A seasoned leader with 12+ years of experience running data, analytics, or engineering function(s) and owning strategy
- 3+ years of proven experience leading, mentoring and developing technical teams
- A track record of delivering AI or analytics solutions with real, measurable business impact
- Significant technical depth in data science and AI
- Strong executive presence: you build trust with senior business and IT leaders and bring others along
- Hands-on with AI: fluent with AI coding agents and modern AI (LLMs, RAG, and the like)
- High School Diploma required, bachelor's degree or higher preferred
- Ability to travel occasionally as needed
- Experience standing up or scaling an AI or advanced-analytics function a plus
- Experience shipping AI or ML products (LLMs, RAG, evaluations) at scale a plus
