M&A Integrations Manager

Work from home Full-time role Hiring

Our Culture at Orion At Orion, we are builders. We want to be the gold standard for people in the Commercial Services trades. We are building a 100+ year business with an A+ team — driven, excited about the future, and looking for people who want to build with us. We believe in hiring people with a growth mindset who are committed to building something bigger than themselves. Our culture is grounded in four core values: Coach, Compete, Collaborate, and Commit. We strive to be low ego, high performance, and deeply committed to our people, our Operating Companies, and our long-term vision. Orion Service Group is a growing network of commercial services businesses across the United States, spanning HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building automation, and related trades. We are highly acquisitive, integrating 10–15 operating companies per year, and our Integrations team is central to converting each acquisition into a stable, growth-ready business within the first 90 days of ownership. Orion is a roll-up-your-sleeves culture. At all levels, we expect people to prioritize, act quickly and effectively, demonstrate agility in their thinking, and get the job done every day. This is not a sit-back-and-direct environment — we value doers, problem-solvers, and people who are hands-on and decisive. The Role The M&A Integrations Manager is the second member of Orion's Integrations team, reporting directly to the Vice President of Integrations. As Orion's acquisition pipeline accelerates, this role exists to add capacity and rigor to the integration program. This role is responsible for running individual integrations as a hands-on project manager while supporting the VP across the broader portfolio. This is a project and program management role at its core. You will lead cross-functional integration workstreams, hold stakeholders to timelines, manage the administrative and coordination engine behind multiple concurrent integrations, and produce weekly executive status reporting. Success in this role demands exceptional change management and communication skills as you will be supporting operating company leaders and teams through the biggest transition of their careers. This is a builder's seat on a small, high-trust team. You will own real outcomes early, wear multiple hats, and help shape how Orion's integration playbook scales. What We Are Looking For Core Competencies Project and program management discipline — you can run multiple integrations at once, build and maintain detailed project plans, sequence dependencies, and drive workstreams to on-time completion without losing the thread on any one of them. Exceptional change management — you understand that integration is fundamentally about people navigating change. You communicate with empathy and clarity, anticipate resistance, and help teams feel supported rather than managed through transition. Exceptional communication — your written and verbal communication is clear, concise, and audience-appropriate, from a field technician introduction session to an executive status update. You can frame an integration support role as collaborative rather than prescriptive. Ownership mentality — when something is not right, it becomes your problem to solve, even if you did not create it. You take full accountability for the integrations you lead. Proactive and forward-looking — you anticipate what each integration needs days and weeks ahead, surface risks before they become problems, and act without waiting to be asked. Resourceful and self-directed — when you encounter an unfamiliar tool, system, or situation, you figure it out. No two integrations are identical and you adapt rather than stall. Comfort with ambiguity and a fast pace — Orion moves quickly and so must this role. You prioritize well, context-switch between integrations, and stay organized under a high volume of concurrent demands. Low ego, high collaboration — you partner effectively across Finance, Operations, Systems, Talent, and operating company leadership, building consensus without direct authority. Continuous improvement mindset — you do not accept the status quo. You are always learning, question how things are done today, and look for better ways to run processes and strengthen the playbook over time. Financial fluency — you are comfortable with financial reporting, month-end close concepts and processes. While you lead a cross-functional integration, the highest integration risk area is in the finance function. Experience and Qualifications 3+ years of experience in project/program management, management consulting, transaction services, audit, or a related analytical role, ideally including Big 4, MBB, or comparable professional services experience. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects or workstreams to deadline. Finance or accounting foundation. Comfortable reading financial statements and engaging with finance leaders on close processes, reporting, and systems topics. Strong proficiency across Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint), AI Platforms (Claude or ChatGPT), and project management tooling; experience with monday.com or a comparable platform is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills. Willingness to travel to operating companies as part of the integration process.

Key Responsibilities

Integration Project Management Lead cross-functional integration projects end to end as the project manager, coordinating Finance, Operations, Systems, Talent, and operating company stakeholders through the integration playbook. Build, maintain, and drive detailed integration project plans in monday.com, keeping tasks, owners, and timelines accurate and current. Run regular working-session cadences for each assigned integration to keep workstreams on track and proactively resolve issues. Manage multiple integrations concurrently, adapting the playbook to each operating company's specific needs. Manage execution of strategic initiatives and projects within 90 days of the acquisition, including systems implementations and process changes. Oversee the deployment of new processes at newly acquired operating companies. Drive implementation of Orion systems and processes within 90 days of each acquisition. Manage project budgets across assigned integrations. Work with and manage external partners and vendors to coordinate delivery of their services. Timeline Coordination and Administration Own coordination of the overall integration timeline across assigned deals, sequencing milestones and dependencies and flagging risks early. Handle the administrative engine behind each integration: scheduling, document management, meeting preparation, follow-ups, and action-item tracking. Support pipeline readiness by helping prepare for upcoming acquisitions ahead of close. Status Reporting and Communication Report integration status to the VP of Integrations weekly, with clear, concise summaries of progress, risks, and decisions needed. Contribute to the weekly Orion integrations update deck and other executive-facing status materials. Communicate with operating company leaders and teams in a way that is collaborative, empathetic, and supportive throughout the transition. Host F90 (First 90 Days) reviews for newly acquired entities. Program Support and Continuous Improvement Support the VP of Integrations across the broader portfolio, including training operating company leaders, hosting LAUNCH assessment workshops, and financial systems transitions (e.g., Sage Intacct, FloQast). Contribute to continuous improvement of the integration playbook, tools, and reporting, helping the program scale as acquisition volume grows. Reporting Structure This position reports directly to the Vice President of Integrations. Work Location and Schedule This is a full-time role based in Denver, Colorado or New York, New York. Remote candidates will be considered for the right fit. Travel of 50%+ to operating companies is expected as part of the integration process.

Compensation

The salary for this role will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and alignment with organizational needs. Our Values Own It Take responsibility for your results and empower others to own theirs. Act With Care Strive to do work you can be proud of today and in 100 years. Lead with humility, curiosity, and transparency. Be Agile Have a growth mindset, embrace continuous improvement, and keep reinventing yourself. Win Together Serve the team, learn from each other, and collectively raise the bar.
