SAT Program Advisor (Remote, Part-Time) Position Type: Part-Time (10 hours per week) Schedule: Approximately 2 hours per day, 5 days per week, with required evening and weekend availability Location: Fully Remote
About the Role
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and student-focused SAT Program Advisor to serve as the primary point of contact for students and families enrolled in our SAT preparation program. In this role, you will provide ongoing support and guidance throughout a student's SAT journey. You'll help students create personalized study plans, answer questions, monitor progress, make recommendations based on performance and goals, and ensure families feel supported every step of the way. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with students, communicating with families, and helping young people achieve their academic goals.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary advisor and first point of contact for students and parents
- Respond promptly and professionally to student and parent questions via text and email
- Create personalized study plans and goal-setting strategies based on student needs and schedules
- Monitor student progress and provide individualized recommendations for improvement
- Help students stay accountable and engaged with their study plans
- Communicate program updates, resources, and important reminders
- Maintain organized records of student communications and progress
- Collaborate with tutors and program staff to support student success
- Build positive relationships with students and families throughout the program
Requirements
- Evening and weekend availability required
- Access to a reliable personal computer and high-speed internet connection
- Comfortable working remotely and independently
- Friendly, professional, and approachable communication style
- Experience working with high school students and/or customer service experience
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to learn and navigate new software platforms quickly
- Active Zoom account and comfort conducting virtual meetings when needed
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple text and email conversations simultaneously
- Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through
Preferred Qualifications (What Makes You Stand Out)
- Experience with the SAT, ACT, or other standardized tests
- Previous SAT tutoring or teaching experience
- Experience advising, mentoring, coaching, or supporting high school students
- College admissions or application counseling experience
- Experience partnering with families to support student success
- Background in education, academic coaching, or student services
- Familiarity with educational technology platforms and online learning environments
Compensation $15 per hour Ideal Candidate You are someone who genuinely enjoys helping students succeed, communicates effectively with both teenagers and parents, stays organized under a high volume of communication, and can provide thoughtful, personalized guidance that helps students reach their goals.
