Medix Technology is seeking an innovative and technically skilled Technical Training Designer to develop engaging, high-quality digital learning experiences that support the healthcare workforce. This role involves transforming Epic curriculum and technical documentation into interactive eLearning modules and multimedia content to enhance system adoption and user proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive eLearning courses using industry-standard authoring tools
- Convert technical documentation, Epic training materials, workflow guides, and subject matter expert input into engaging self-paced learning experiences
- Create software simulations and scenario-based learning modules that reinforce healthcare workflows and application functionality
- Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to maximize learner engagement and knowledge retention
- Script, produce, record, and edit professional instructional videos, software demonstrations, and microlearning content
- Utilize application environment exports, screen recordings, and workflow demonstrations provided by Principal Trainers and subject matter experts
- Produce polished multimedia assets including voiceover narration, animations, motion graphics, captions, and visual callouts
- Analyze complex technical documentation and independently storyboard digital learning solutions
- Collaborate with Principal Trainers, Clinical Informaticists, Application Analysts, and operational stakeholders to validate instructional accuracy
- Ensure all learning materials accurately reflect current workflows, application updates, and organizational standards
- Package, publish, and deploy SCORM/xAPI-compliant learning objects for the organization's Learning Management System (LMS)
- Optimize multimedia assets for remote delivery, accessibility (WCAG), mobile responsiveness, and efficient streaming performance
- Maintain version control and update digital content as healthcare applications and workflows evolve
- Perform comprehensive quality reviews of all digital learning materials
- Ensure consistency in branding, instructional standards, accessibility, and technical functionality
- Monitor learner feedback and recommend enhancements to improve the overall training experience
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Communications, Multimedia Design, Information Technology, Healthcare Education, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
- 3+ years of experience designing digital learning content, technical training, or instructional media
- Advanced proficiency with digital learning authoring tools such as: Camtasia, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop) preferred
- Demonstrated portfolio of software simulations, digital technical walkthroughs, or interactive eLearning modules
- Experience translating technical documentation into engaging instructional content
- Strong storyboarding, scripting, visual design, and multimedia production skills
- Experience developing SCORM-compliant or LMS-compatible learning content
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience developing training for healthcare technology, Epic applications, or Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) systems
- Familiarity with Epic workflows, healthcare operations, or clinical education
- Knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, or Agile Learning Design), and learning analytics
- Experience creating accessible digital learning content that meets WCAG accessibility standards
- Familiarity with xAPI, Learning Experience Platforms (LXPs), and enterprise Learning Management
