[Remote] Sr. Data Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Thomson Reuters is a global leader in providing trusted content and technology to professionals across various sectors. They are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to contribute to the development of their data platform and support customers with technical data-related work.
Responsibilities
- The development of our overall data platform
- Supporting internal and external customers with data related technical work, to include planning, documentation, and coding
- Interacting directly with customers
Skills
- Have Bachelor of Science degree in a technical area (relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree)
- 7 years of data engineering experience
- Proficiency in SQL and Snowflake Data Cloud Platform, including complex queries and performance optimization within the Snowflake environment
- Experience with Data Loading, Data Transformation, Data Extraction, Sharing and Replication
- Experience with Security features, including access control, data masking and encryption
- Experience with Data modeling across disparate data sources with a variety of formats and structures
- Experience with Ontology development at a warehouse level
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, etc) for data processing and ETL scripting
- Passionate, smart, and articulate technologist
- Able to work independently based on high level instructions
- Possess a strong personal work ethic
- Desire to collaborate with a distributed team
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. National Security Clearance
- Able to support and teach others in areas of mastery
- Experience with formal SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) procedures
- Experience with version control software and methodology, preferably Github
