[Remote] Senior Accountant

They are seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee fiduciary and client-facing financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance in managing transactions and maintaining audit-ready records.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile the 500+ fiduciary bank reconciliations monthly
- Execute and oversee FBO account replenishments by analyzing individual client balances to ensure adequate funding levels
- Prepare and reconcile client reserve balances - proactively investigate root causes of three-way mismatches
- Review carrier premium reconciliations
- Provide the Account Executive team with return of reserve offers for each client at plan year end and record all accepted offers in the accounting system
- Prepare the monthly reconciliation of the contract asset in alignment with revenue recognition policies
- Provide Senior VP of Finance with captive claims amounts on a quarterly basis and record in the accounting system
- Prepare and reconcile client accounts by ID in the accounting system
- Review all client carrier invoices in BILL for approval
- Calculate, track, and process monthly broker payments, and distribute over 150 broker statements via email
- Manage ACH setup and maintenance for both carriers and brokers
- Allocate member PayPal refunds in the accounting system
- Prepare and import the daily client claims check report
- Track and maintain accurate records of all client claims checks, including voids and reissues, and collaborate with internal departments to resolve member reimbursement issues
- Import members check payments to the accounting system accurately and promptly
- Work with the Supervisor of Client Billing & AR to process, approve, and record client termination billings
- Manage and execute the escheatment process in compliance with applicable regulations
- Lead the evaluation and implementation of new systems to streamline fiduciary processes
- Support the annual financial audit, including documentation and process explanations
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior VP of Finance
Skills
- 5+ years of experience in corporate accounting
- Strong audit knowledge and a solid understanding of accounting functions
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP
- Expertise in Excel and Tableau and experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial data to executive leadership
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative, remote environment
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Applies critical thinking and balanced judgment to solve problems and drive confident decisions
- Must demonstrate proficiency in AI-driven tools and solutions to improve processes, optimize performance, and support continuous innovation
