[Remote] SBA Finance Specialist

The SBA Finance Specialist will focus on business development, customer relationship management, and promoting SBA loan products, while ensuring compliance with risk management policies.
Responsibilities
- Achieve annualized loan production target while operating within the Bank's tolerance for each risk category; eligible products include SBA 7(a), SBA 504, USDA, and other conventional loans with government-guarantee components
- Use the LOB playbook and consultative sales process to build a thorough customer profile, identify short- and long-term financial needs, and cross-sell other Bank products
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of products/services and recommend appropriate solutions using our value proposition
- Articulate the advantages of obtaining financing through a technology-enabled, industry-specific lender to doctors and referral sources
- Prospect to business customers and set appointments for periodic financial reviews, including outbound calls to your book of business
- Build trusted relationships with One Bank partners to enable customer referrals and provide timely and holistic financial solutions, along with governmental and community agencies by acting as a liaison to promote the Bank’s alternative lending products
- Participate in the origination, closing, packaging, servicing, and, as necessary, the liquidation of SBA loans to conform with U.S. Small Business Administration SOPs and the Bank's policies and regulatory compliance
- Balance risk and return, measured by any charge-offs that result in loss of income within the first 12 months; actively engage in credit and risk management policy and processes, including servicing and liquidation requests as needed
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, finance, or related business field, or four (4) years of related experience
- Minimum five (5) years of commercial banking experience, or five (5) years of sales and underwriting experience
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. Small Business Administration loan programs and other federal, state, and municipal alternative lending products
- Proven track record of self-motivated success in external sales/sourcing and the creation of new sales relations
- Ability to analyze complex financial data to make sound credit decisions
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office software applications
- Formalized basic credit training or equivalent credit risk experience
