[Remote] Sr Data Analytics Developer

Mutual of Omaha is a leading financial services organization, and they are seeking a Sr Data Analytics Developer to enhance their reporting and business intelligence solutions. In this role, you will analyze data from multiple systems, partner with stakeholders, and ensure data quality while driving data-informed strategies and insights.
Responsibilities
- Leads the analysis, design, development, and implementation of customer reporting and business intelligence solutions. These solutions provide user-friendly, intuitive reports and dashboards that drive business insights and support decision making
- Partners with business units, I/S, and external customers to deliver data reporting solutions, acting as a liaison to enable collaboration, ensure data access and quality, and resolve escalated issues across environments
- Understands and influences data management processes, including internal and external data feeds, data extraction, distribution, and adherence to business rules, compliance, and legal standards, ensuring proper handling of licensed, purchased, and customer data
- Designs, builds, and maintains complex reporting systems across multiple environments, including testing and implementation of business intelligence tools, while maintaining technical expertise in relevant programming languages
- Provides governance and leadership through data quality standards, process improvements, leveraging third-party data, and mentoring team members, while supporting analysis, issue resolution, and performance reporting for stakeholders
Skills
- 3–5 years of reporting and SQL experience (writing, reviewing, enhancing, and debugging code), with the ability to connect and integrate data from multiple systems and troubleshoot issues
- Strong proficiency in reporting and analytics tools including Tableau, Power BI, Microsoft SQL Server, SAS, Oracle EPM (Hyperion/Brio), Microsoft Excel, and Business Objects
- Proven experience in data modeling, transformations, and metric development, with strong analytical instincts and the ability to dig into data to identify root causes and deliver meaningful insights
- Solid understanding of data environments, including operational data stores and data warehouses, such as Teradata, Snowflake, MongoDB, etc., along with experience in business intelligence, data validation, quality controls, and data security/risk management
- Demonstrated ability to build reports and dashboards, partner with cross-functional stakeholders and external vendors, and communicate effectively, combining creativity, problem-solving, and strategic thinking to support business domains such as Finance, Product, Customer Service, Marketing, and Sales
