[Remote] Product Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Sidebar is representing Riviera, a company that provides a front-of-house stack for cosmetic and plastic surgery practices. The Product Engineer will be responsible for understanding client operations, delivering technical solutions, and shaping product requirements based on customer needs.
Responsibilities
- When a practice signs, someone has to go figure out how they actually run today — how leads get worked, where they leak, how the front desk really operates — and turn that into a plan: what we ship day one, what we layer in over the first month, what's worth building for them down the line
- Then someone has to actually do it. Wire up the integrations, port the phones, build the workflows, stand up the automations
- And then keep watching the numbers and proposing what's next, because we don't implement and walk away — we're in it with these practices for the long haul
- You're one of the sharpest signals we have about what to build next
- You see the same needs surface across practices, and you turn that into product — writing PRDs, shaping requirements, helping the core product team sequence what gets built and when
- You're not just deploying the product; you're helping define it
- You're on the calls, not behind them — you do the discovery, read what's feasible against what the product can do today, present the plan yourself, and build the parts that are buildable now
- A lot of that build happens with Claude Code, MCPs, and whatever else gets you there; you should be genuinely fluent with these tools, not just curious, and comfortable pushing a PR when it's the fastest path
- You take the patterns you're seeing in the field and turn them into clear requirements the core team can build against — the deep-customer-understanding-into-PRD muscle that good product managers have
- The best version of this job isn't doing bespoke work forever — it's spotting what's common, building the reusable version of it, and feeding the genuinely new stuff into the product roadmap
- We're not hiring a consultant who re-solves the same problem ten times
- We're hiring someone who makes the eleventh deployment trivial and turns the hard parts into product
- You'd work alongside our head of customer success as a peer
- They own the commercial relationship — trust, renewals, growth
- You own the technical relationship, whether the practice gets the outcomes we promised, and a real voice in where the product goes
Skills
- Demonstrated track record of working with customers — you can be on a call and respond to customers directly
- Product / project ownership — not just responsible for implementing; responsible for how this is going to get better
- Technical depth (engineering/technical background) — a structured problem-solver comfortable solving technically. Doesn't need to be a pure SWE
