[Remote] Principal Hardware Design Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. DataED is currently seeking passionate Principal H/W Design Engineers to join their world-class design team. The role involves designing electronic hardware and software to meet customer quality and delivery requirements, alongside various responsibilities in circuit design and project management.

Responsibilities

• Apply independence and creativity to drive project design scope and deliverables
• Develop Functional Design Specifications
• Circuit design: Digital, Analog, and Power
• PCIe, DDR, Microprocessor, DSP, etc
• I2C, SPI, PCIe, DDR3+, Ethernet, USB, CSI, DSI, etc
• Analog/RF experience is a plus
• BLE and/or WiFi experience a plus
• Schematic Capture and Layout Review/Guidance/Management
• Pre&Post Signal and Power Integrity analysis (optional)
• FPGA and CPLD design (Verilog, VHDL)
• FPGA test benches and verification (ModelSim, Xilinx, Altera, etc.)
• Develop test plans/methods to ensure product reliability and performance targets are met
• Prototype bring up and system integration
• Working knowledge of EMC/CE/UL compliance requirements
• Software and Firmware development

Skills

• 10+ years of experience
• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Expert user of one or more of the following tools: Siemens DxDesigner, Altium and Xpedition-DxDesigner
• Circuit design: Digital, Analog, and Power
• PCIe, DDR, Microprocessor, DSP, etc
• I2C, SPI, PCIe, DDR3+, Ethernet, USB, CSI, DSI, etc
• Schematic Capture and Layout Review/Guidance/Management
• FPGA and CPLD design (Verilog, VHDL)
• FPGA test benches and verification (ModelSim, Xilinx, Altera, etc.)
• Develop test plans/methods to ensure product reliability and performance targets are met
• Prototype bring up and system integration
• Working knowledge of EMC/CE/UL compliance requirements
• Software and Firmware development
• Siemens DxDesigner
• Application of formal project management and system engineering methodologies to development of complex, high performance electronics systems
• Work history in aerospace/defense market
