[Remote] Lead Engineer, Software

The Lead Engineer, Software develops, debugs, tests, deploys and supports code for various applications, working in cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality product development.
Responsibilities
- Work as a team member who understands/interprets technical problems and provides technical support
- Solve assigned problems under guidance of more senior engineers
- Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites
- Design and develop a processing platform using various configuration management technologies
- Test software development methodology (may be done in agile environment)
- Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms
- Collaborate cross-functionally with customers, users, project managers and other engineers including Peer-Reviews to achieve elegant solutions
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
- Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices
- Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations
Skills
- 3 to 8 years of experience in software development
- Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to manage a single line engineering project with a limited number of participants
- Demonstrate 'Individual Leadership Behaviors' as per Celestica Leadership Imperatives
- Solid understanding of Celestica's budgeting and accounting system and the cost accounting practices relevant to engineering work
- Ability to communicate clearly and timely all aspects of work that may influence the profitability of the project
- Ability to perform tasks such as analyzing, designing, and developing tests and test-automation suites
- Experience in designing and developing a processing platform using various configuration management technologies
- Experience in providing ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with customers, users, project managers, and other engineers
- Ability to provide recommendations for continuous improvement
- Ability to work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices
- Ability to keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations
- Ability to perform duties in a normal office environment, which may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor
- Ability to perform repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator)
- Occasional travel may be required
