[Remote] Human Resources Director
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Kenaitze Indian Tribe is seeking a Human Resources Director who will oversee the Tribe's human resources functions. This role involves strategic planning, compliance with employment laws, and collaboration with various programs to enhance customer care and support services.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for human resources strategic and annual planning
- Support and promote Tribal and Native hire preference by working collaboratively with the TERO Manager
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of the Tribe's compensation and performance management systems
- Administer employee benefits, including workers' compensation insurance process, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k). Responsible for overseeing benefit renewals and notifications to staff
- Assists Directors in the development and implementation of staff training and development programs
- Work in conjunction with the TERO Manager to ensure the Tribe's recruitment process incorporates optimum internal customer service and best practice, and be directly involved in the recruitment of director and high level health system positions
- Oversight of personnel records management
- Ensure the Tribe's compliance with applicable state and federal employment laws, including reporting requirements
- Develop personnel policies and procedures and provide guidance to the Tribe's supervisors and staff regarding laws and Tribal policies and procedures
- Conduct personnel investigations and work collaboratively with the TERO Manager on all TERO employee investigations
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, or a combination of education and experience in a related field may be substituted for a degree
- Seven years of organizational human resource management and personnel management experience
- Experience in the Healthcare field
- Experience in the development of human resources and workplace strategies
- Experience in compensation structure development and benefit plan development
- Experience in budget management
- Experience in policy and procedure development & implementation
- Experience in public speaking and staff development and training programs
- Specialized HR certifications, e.g. Society of Human Resource Management Certified Professional or Senior Certified Professional, and Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
- Valid Alaska driver license and must remain insurable under the Tribe's policy
- Strong conflict management and investigation skills
- Knowledge of state and federal employment and safety laws, and how they apply to Tribes
- Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities
