[Remote] Head of Digital Operations & Engineering - Service NAM
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Hitachi Rail is a leader in the energy sector, seeking a Head of Digital Operations and Engineering for North America. This role involves overseeing digital operations and engineering activities, establishing stable processes, and enhancing service delivery performance across various functions.
Responsibilities
- Establish and execute operational vision, processes, and standards for engineering teams to improve predictability, delivery speed, and reliability
- Set priorities, performance goals, and accountability for service delivery and operational outcomes
- Build and scale an operational model while supporting hands-on execution as required
- Serve as a senior escalation point for digital execution and engineering issues and oversee risk management and corrective actions
- Define roadmaps for engineering and digital execution across enterprise platforms, manufacturing systems, and product ecosystems
- Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver digital solutions aligned with organizational needs
- Partner with regional, operational, and business stakeholders to align digital and engineering capabilities with strategic goals and connect processes across functions
- Build and develop teams through recruitment, mentoring, and fostering collaboration and continuous improvement
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines
Skills
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or related technical field
- 15+ years of experience in digital engineering, IT operations, or platform leadership
- At least 5 years of experience managing cross-functional teams
- Communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills
- Experience with digital services and exposure to critical infrastructure or data center operations
- Experience building or scaling operational organizations in a global environment
