[Remote] Financial Analyst
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Living Company is seeking a Financial Analyst who will report to the CFO and perform a wide range of duties involving financial data analysis. This role focuses on providing insights to management through financial reporting, modeling, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
Responsibilities
- Analyze financial results, including trends, performance metrics, and key business drivers, and provide clear, actionable insights to leadership
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and perform detailed variance analysis (actual vs. budget vs. forecast), with a strong understanding of underlying drivers
- Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models to support forecasting, scenario analysis, and strategic decision-making
- Participate in and support the budgeting and forecasting process, including refining assumptions and improving forecast accuracy over time
- Extract, organize, and analyze data from multiple systems to produce accurate, timely, and decision-useful reporting
- Create and maintain KPI dashboards and performance reporting tools that improve visibility into business performance
- Generate ad hoc analyses and reports in response to evolving business needs, often under tight timelines and with incomplete data
- Support the month-end close process, including preparation of moderately complex journal entries and coordination with accounting
- Respond to and provide support for external audit requests in a timely and organized manner
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve internal processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 3 to 5+ years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including financial modeling, data manipulation, and analysis
- Experience building financial models and supporting forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently work through complex or ambiguous data sets
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail; consistently produces reliable, high-quality work
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for outcomes
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across functions
- Proactive approach to identifying issues, asking questions, and driving solutions
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial information and insights to management
- Demonstrated ability to build models and analyses from the ground up, not solely maintain existing templates
- Track record of improving processes, reporting quality, or forecast accuracy
- Comfort working with large, imperfect, or unstructured data sets to arrive at clear conclusions
- Consistent delivery of high-quality work under tight timelines
- Experience working with ERP systems or participating in system implementations strongly preferred (Sage 300 experience a plus)
