[Remote] Epic Data Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Custom Business Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Epic Data Engineer who will work collaboratively with architects, business intelligence developers, data analysts, and data scientists. This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines and architectures to transform healthcare data into reliable datasets for reporting and analytics.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain ETL/ELT processes across multiple data sources and platforms
- Build and optimize scalable data pipelines and data integration solutions
- Provide operational support and troubleshooting for data warehouses, datasets, and data pipelines
- Collaborate with data consumers to identify data requirements, available sources, and potential data quality concerns
- Participate in the design, development, and implementation of conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Follow Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices to ensure high-quality, reliable data assets
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulations related to Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
- Develop and maintain CI/CD processes to improve deployment efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog grooming, sprint planning, and technical solution design
- Mentor and support junior and mid-level team members
Skills
- Candidates must possess the following Epic certifications: Cogito Fundamentals, Clarity Data Model, Caboodle Data Model
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered
- Minimum of 5 years of experience developing, supporting, and implementing applications or data solutions
- Strong programming experience with the ability to develop, test, and support enterprise data solutions
- Experience working throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including coding, testing, deployment, and support
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently within a diverse technology environment
- Epic certifications in: Cogito Fundamentals, Clarity Data Model, Caboodle Data Model
