[Remote] Business Analyst 3 – Education Systems | Austin, TX Hybrid | 8+ Years Requirements Elicitation Experience

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. CrowdPlat is a Texas state agency seeking an advanced, senior-level Business Analyst to support multiple projects focused on improving outcomes for students. The role involves working on major enhancements and rewrite efforts, serving as the conduit between the program/customer community and the software development team through which requirements flow.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user needs, business processes, pain points, and computer system capabilities to automate or improve existing systems
• Elicit requirements using joint application development (JAD), interviews, document analysis, surveys, use cases, competitive product analysis, and workflow analysis
• Transform information from elicitation sessions into business and functional requirements, use cases, user stories, software requirements specifications documents, wireframes, and mockups
• Use standard templates and simple, unambiguous, and concise natural language for all requirements documentation
• Act as a mentor to peers and colleagues in disseminating best practices and proactively seek out training opportunities
• Use agency tools such as Jira and Modern Requirements to manage the change control process, participate in the SDLC, and track and communicate requirements status
• Manage the requirements specification and verify the fulfillment of all requirements, including requirements for enhancements post-implementation

Skills

• 8+ years of experience eliciting requirements from interviews with customers and creating well-written system requirements
• 8+ years of experience with software development life cycles (SDLCs)
• 8+ years of business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement experience
• 8+ years of experience developing user stories and use cases that conform to business analysis best practices
• 8+ years of experience designing mockups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices
• 5+ years of demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills
• 5+ years of demonstrated strong writing and organization skills
• 3+ years of documented experience working for or closely with a federal/state/local education agency or education vendor
• 2+ years of documented work experience with the issue tracking software 'Atlassian Jira'
• 2+ years of documented work experience with the requirements management software 'Modern Requirements'
