As an Account Executive at Cisco, you will manage key accounts, influence purchasing decisions, and collaborate with top professionals to drive customer success through innovative secure networking solutions.
Responsibilities
- Orchestrating multi-faceted, complex deal cycles involving multiple stakeholders and departments
- Prospecting new deals and developing portfolio growth within Cisco’s largest and most strategic accounts
- Engaging with C-suite executives and buyers to anticipate evolving customer needs and align Cisco solutions accordingly
- Leveraging competitive and customer data to position Cisco’s differentiated product strategy and create customer stickiness
- Leading negotiations with a consultative approach to secure customer-first agreements that balance pricing, service levels, and contractual commitments
Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of related sales experience in technology or networking solutions
- Proven track record of managing complex sales cycles and achieving revenue targets
- Deep understanding of core secure networking technologies including switching, wireless, routing, and firewall
- Experience using CRM tools for accurate sales funnel management and forecasting
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco's full product portfolio and ability to articulate its market differentiation
- Strong consultative selling skills with experience engaging executive-level stakeholders
- Ability to analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer business models to inform strategic recommendations
- Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams including solution engineers and specialist groups
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience

- Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members
- Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer
- Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan
- For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows: * .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota; * 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%; * 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and * Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
- For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target
- Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid
- Employees in Illinois, whether exempt or non-exempt, will participate in a unique time off program to meet local requirements
