Manager, Clinical Vendor Contracts & Alliance Management
Our Cambridge, MA based pharmaceutical client is seeking a Manager, Clinical Vendor Contracts & Alliance Management to join their growing Clinical Operations team. If you’re driven by meaningful work and passionate about supporting patient communities, this role places you at the center of how we execute our clinical trials. You will lead end‑to‑end vendor outsourcing, from strategic selection through contract execution and ongoing relationship management. Your expertise will directly influence study timelines, quality, and financial stewardship. (This position can be fully remote but candidates must reside in EST or CST regions and be willing to travel to Cambridge MA 2-4x per year). What You’ll Do
- Lead full vendor selection processes: identifying providers, gathering business needs, running RFPs, facilitating bid defenses, scoring proposals, and driving award decisions.
- Negotiate vendor budgets, payment schedules, and contract terms; execute agreements through the Contract Management System.
- Manage CDAs, MSAs, Work Orders, Change Orders, and Amendments across assigned studies/programs.
- Facilitate vendor kickoff meetings to align on timelines, scope, roles, and budget expectations.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure performance meets or exceeds expectations.
- Monitor industry trends and vendor landscape to inform outsourcing strategy.
- Partner cross‑functionally with Legal, QA, Compliance, and Clinical Operations to ensure quality and compliance.
- Lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives within Clinical Operations.
- Oversee study budgets, track actuals vs. forecast, propose trade‑offs, and lead financial reviews.
- Support annual budget cycles and long‑range planning.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years in biotech/pharma, including 3–5 years of direct vendor selection and contract/budget negotiation across global early‑ and late‑phase studies.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial budgeting tools and vendor ecosystem.
- Proven negotiation, vendor management, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Deep knowledge of GCP, ICH, FDA/EMA guidelines.
- Exceptional communication, organization, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
