About AI training work AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback) is the human side of building modern AI: people annotate, evaluate, and refine examples the models learn from. Work is often remote, flexible, and accessible to non-traditional tech backgrounds while letting contributors influence cutting-edge systems. This role focuses on reviewing visual and UX outputs from humans and AI so models learn better design judgment and produce more usable interfaces. The role OpenTrain is recruiting a UX and Visual Design Expert to review design interview content and AI-generated materials. This is a contract, part-time position focused on multidisciplinary design judgment: visual quality, UX/UI principles, typography, layout, branding consistency, and user-centered design. You will work 20+ hours per week as a contractor. Applicants must be able to work remotely from the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand and must be fluent in English.

What you’ll do This role contributes directly to improving AI outputs and training data by evaluating, rating, and creating feedback for design artifacts. Your judgments will help refine model behavior and the quality of future design-focused training sets.
- Evaluate and refine design interview content with emphasis on visual and UX/UI elements.
- Assess AI-generated materials for quality, usability, and adherence to modern design principles.
- Deliver clear, actionable feedback to improve layout, visual hierarchy, and overall user experience.
- Collaborate with AI training teams to align outputs with evolving design standards.
- Apply deep design knowledge to realistic UX scenarios to improve AI tools.
Requirements

- Minimum 3 years of multidisciplinary design experience with a strong portfolio.
- Solid command of typography, layout, and visual design principles.
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD).
- Experience with wireframing, prototyping, and user-centered design processes.
- Ability to assess and develop branding and visual identity elements.
- Strong attention to detail, creativity, and conceptual thinking.
- Up-to-date knowledge of UX and UI fundamentals and current industry best practices.
Compensation and labeling details Pay is hourly, paid in USD. The project lists a pay range of $20–$70 per hour; the specified hourlyRate is $70 and hourlyMin is $20 with hourlyMax $70. Work will involve evaluation and creation of text-based feedback and ratings using a custom labeling platform.
