The Senior Distribution Manager Germany is fully accountable for the operational performance, reliability, and continuous optimisation of the end‑to‑end distribution . The role owns day-to-day execution across order-to-cash, distributor management, ensuring timely product delivery, data accuracy, and regulatory compliance in collaboration with the GDP Responsible person. In addition, the role is the primary owner of market and operational intelligence related to distribution performance, proactively generating actionable insights to inform commercial, operational, and strategic decision-making. The incumbent acts as the central coordination point for all distribution-related activities, driving alignment across internal stakeholders (Finance, Quality, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Commercial) and external partners. The role is responsible not only for execution, but also for identifying risks, driving corrective actions, and improving supply chain performance in Germany and contributing to European optimisation initiatives. Essential functions of the job: 1. End-to-End Distribution & Order-to-Cash Ownership Own and manage the end-to-end distribution process, ensuring on-time, compliant, and efficient product flow to customers. Hold accountability for distributor performance, including service levels, delivery timing, and issue resolution. Ensure full operational control of order-to-cash execution, including: Order processing and delivery execution Credit/debit notes and returns Credit limit monitoring and collection support Identify, escalate, and resolve distribution issues, ensuring root cause analysis and prevention of recurrence in collaboration with the GDP responsible person. Guarantee operational readiness for launches, new distribution models, or market expansions. 2. Customer Master Data & Compliance (supports) Supports the integrity, completeness, and compliance of all customer master data within SAP. Support accurate onboarding, revalidation, and lifecycle management of customers, including regulatory documentation and GDP compliance with GDP person. Jointly accountable for audit readiness related to customer data, pricing, and distribution processes depending on type of audit. Continuously monitor data quality and drive corrective actions where gaps are identified. 3. Supply Chain Intelligence & Insights (Strengthened) Act as the primary owner of distribution and supply chain intelligence for Germany. Systematically analyse operational data (orders, delivery performance, incidents, customer patterns) to generate insights. Translate data into clear, actionable recommendations for performance improvement, risk mitigation, and business optimisation. Identify emerging risks, bottlenecks, or inefficiencies early and proactively drive mitigation plans. Provide structured, regular insights into Business Reviews (WBR/MBR/QBR), influencing decision-making at country and regional level. Partner with Data & Analytics to define key performance metrics and ensure transparency of supply chain performance. 4. Performance Management & Continuous Improvement Be accountable for distribution KPIs, including service level, lead time, level of incidents, order accuracy, and issue resolution. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the German supply chain, with measurable impact on efficiency, quality, and customer experience. Identify and implement standardisation opportunities, both locally and across Europe. Ensure SOPs and WIs are current, adhered to, and continuously improved with GDP responsible person. Lead or actively contribute to global transformation and system enhancement initiatives. 5. Stakeholder Management & Governance Serve as the single accountable contact for all distribution-related activities in Germany. Drive proactive communication, ensuring stakeholders are informed of performance, risks, and actions. Align cross-functional teams on priorities, issues, and improvement initiatives. Escalate critical risks and performance gaps with clear recommendations and ownership. Qualifications: Minimum 5+ years in pharmaceutical / medical device distribution, supply chain, or order-to-cash operations, with demonstrated ownership of operational outcomes. Proven experience managing end-to-end distribution execution, including distributor performance, customer data, and operational compliance in a GDP environment. Hands-on experience in fast-growing, entrepreneurial commercial organisations, with the ability to operate effectively in evolving structures and ambiguous environments. Track record of data-driven decision-making, with the ability to translate operational data into actionable insights. Experience in launch readiness, new distribution models, German wholesalers, Stock in Trade management or business scale-up environments is highly valued.
