[Remote] Technical Administrator
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Bidfood UK is part of The Caterfood Buying Group, a network of independent foodservice suppliers. The Technical Administrator role involves supporting the Technical Manager by providing technical support for product performance monitoring, ensuring data integrity and compliance for own label and branded products.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the Technical team with the set-up of Caterfood Own Label products. To include setting up specifications on the OPRi system, setting up projects and creating Erudus specifications
- Working with an external technical consultancy to support the approval of product artwork and specifications to ensure the products are legally compliant with relevant legislation when required
- Developing a product review process of Caterfood Own Label products and branded products to ensure data accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation. Checking physical product labels from stock and comparing against Erudus and other third-party platforms to ensure all is aligned
- Auditing supplier product data and charging for any discrepancies in-line with the CFBG charter
- Reviewing Caterfood Buying Group marketing collateral prior to launch, member websites and third-party platforms providing feedback and supporting with improvements where required
- Responsible for all CFBG products being entered and up to date on Erudus
- Supporting the CFBG QHSE’s and Buying team with any own label product technical queries and escalating to suppliers in a timely manner
- Supplier performance monitoring to include, but not limited to laboratory testing, C of A collation and review, nutritional monitoring (e.g. salt) free range egg and palm oil trackers in line with CFBG targets
- Attend regular team meetings providing relevant technical updates
- Support the development, management and evolution of the Quality Management Systems and associated processes, policies, resources and procedures, implement necessary changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Customer, third party professional & trade body liaison/interaction and support, as required
- Support when dealing with emerging industry issues, legislation changes, and critical product issues, both in and out of hours if required, working with the relevant team members as appropriate
- Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy
- Comply with all verbal and written instructions in matters pertaining to Health & Safety
- Attend Health & Safety training courses as per instructions from line managers
Skills
- Substantial proven experience required in a manufacturing/foodservice/retail environment
- Proven planning & organising skills with the ability to manage projects
- Strong IT skills are essential with knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong drive and adaptability ensuring deliverables are met efficiently and effectively
- Good communication and influencing skills – oral and written
- Proven planning & organising skills with the ability to manage administrative activities
- Good stakeholder management and organisation skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret and analyse technical information and provide insight to non-technical representatives
- Food Science or Technology degree preferred but examples of higher learning essential
