Optomi, in partnership with a leading transportation and logistics organization, is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Software Engineer to join a growing team that is building the next generation of its hybrid cloud infrastructure platform. This role involves modernizing legacy infrastructure and automating foundational services that enable compute, networking, storage, virtualization, and private cloud capabilities.

Responsibilities

Skills

• Extensive experience building infrastructure software or platform services in Linux environments
• Deep expertise with Linux operating systems, internals, and systems architecture
• Experience designing or developing distributed systems and highly scalable infrastructure platforms
• Strong understanding of concurrency, multithreading, and performance optimization
• Experience building infrastructure APIs, orchestration services, or platform tooling
• Experience modernizing legacy infrastructure while contributing to future-state platform architecture
• Proficiency with one or more systems programming languages such as Go, Rust, Java, Python, or C++
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple infrastructure engineering disciplines
• Experience with Kubernetes internals, control planes, operators, cluster management, or cloud-native platforms is highly preferred
• Experience with storage systems, software-defined infrastructure, or private cloud platforms is a plus
