[Remote] Staff Accountant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Summit is a company that builds and operates infrastructure for critical applications in regulated industries. The Staff Accountant role involves supporting the accuracy and integrity of financial operations through various accounting activities and collaboration with cross-functional partners.
Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and support monthly close activities
- Perform general ledger analysis and account reconciliations
- Complete daily bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Support balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting activities
- Assist with commission reviews in partnership with Sales Operations and People Operations
- Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and related reporting
- Provide backup support for accounts payable processes
- Manage accounting-related credit card activity and documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls
- Support special projects and other accounting initiatives as needed

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 1-3 years of accounting experience
- Experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting platforms
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience supporting accounting functions in a technology or professional services environment
