[Remote] Sports Product Designer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Displate is one of the fastest growing art platforms in the world, creating high quality metal posters designed by artists and brands. They are seeking a Sports Product Designer who will be responsible for creating dynamic illustrations and designs for various sports-themed products, ensuring quick turnaround times and collaboration with the marketing team.
Responsibilities
- Create original illustrations and designs for Displate's sports metal poster, limited edition, and collectibles lines
- Produce fast-turnaround "moments on metal" artwork tied to championships, milestones, and cultural moments — often within hours of the final whistle
- Design evergreen sports product lines for retail and e-commerce
- Develop artwork across formats: standard posters, limited editions, and collectible metal prints
- Prepare and manage licensor submissions and revisions through approval processes
- Partner with the Sports Category Manager to stay ahead of the licensing calendar and league schedule
- Collaborate with Displate's Poland-based design studio on brand standards and shared assets
- Support Marketing with social and campaign creative for sports launches
Skills
- 2–4+ years as a professional illustrator, graphic designer, or product artist with sports-themed work in your portfolio
- Experience designing for physical consumer products — prints, posters, trading cards, collectibles, apparel, or packaging
- Strong illustration and composition skills; your work is dynamic, not decorative
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and digital illustration tools (Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, or equivalent)
- Solid grasp of color theory, typography, and visual hierarchy applied to product surfaces
- Ability to produce high-quality work fast — you don't sacrifice quality under deadline pressure
- Knowledge of print production and color management for physical output (or a genuine eagerness to learn)
- Deep knowledge of at least one major US sport, broad awareness across leagues
- You understand fan culture and collector behavior — you know what makes a piece of sports art iconic
- Familiarity with licensed sports imagery guidelines and approval processes
