Overview

Join a pure online gaming company as a remote mathematician and ride the global game playing wave with a team of talented game developers building games for global distribution. Our client's games are sold out for years. Base pay range $120,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr Major Accountabilities

  • Develop and optimise game mathematical models to precisely meet the design specifications.
  • Ensure player fairness in all designs and corresponding math models.
  • Ensure math models comply with all jurisdictional standards and regulations.
  • Complete all required calculation sheets showing theoretical and simulated results where required.
  • Write clear and concise functional specification documents, paytable and help page documents and other associated game support materials.
  • Program prototypes to visually represent the game model.
  • Brief model requirements to all development disciplines.
  • Work directly with all development disciplines to bring game designs and associated math models into deployable content for end users to experience.
  • Verify back end implementation of mathematical models.
  • Be aware of the status at all times of your projects through production and QA.
  • Spot defects and potential improvement tweaks during production and prior to QA.
  • Identify potential improvements to games after they have been released if required.
  • Analyse performance data from the marketplace to help identify future game mechanics and industry trends.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Mathematics or Statistics (or equivalent experience)
  • The imagination to create market defining online gambling games to the highest standard
  • A strong understanding of and experience with probability theory
  • A passion for online gambling and its inherent theories and models
  • Full understanding of online slot games with intrinsic knowledge of game math, game flow and playability, presentation of the math utilizing both graphics and audio.
  • A track record of producing successful online products, specifically, real money gaming slots
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment in order to meet multiple deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the ability to create complex spreadsheets
  • Solid interpersonal skills in dealing with and influencing individuals from a variety of disciplines

Desired but not Required

  • Masters in Mathematics or Statistics
  • Prototyping skills using Unity, Construct, Flash, HTML-5, Javascript or similar
  • Experience with C# or similar to help develop simulations or more complicated math models
  • The ability to create XML control files
