[Remote] Sheet Metal Technician (Various Shifts) - Indianapolis, IN
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Textron Aviation is a leader in the aviation industry, and they are seeking a Sheet Metal Technician to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal products for general aviation aircraft, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to specifications.
Responsibilities
- Determine project requirements, including scope, assembly sequences, and methods using blueprints and instructions
- Lay out and alter sheet metal parts based on blueprints, drawings, and instructions
- Perform rivet and sheet metal component removal, and install solid and blind rivets with various tools including rivet guns and squeeze tools
- Bend, form, and drill various metals, ensuring precise fabrication of parts
- Set up for countersinking, dimpling, and deburring holes and cut lines
Skills
- High School education, or a GED is required
- A minimum 2 years of diversified aviation sheet metal experience is required
- Familiarity with FAA AC 43. 13-1B and aircraft structure repair manuals is helpful
- Skills in identifying types of corrosions and corrosion removal procedures are helpful
- Knowledge of the application and removal of wash etch and Alodine material is helpful
- Experience in applying primer is helpful
- Ability to identify rivets, bolts, screw, nuts and washer is helpful
