[Remote] Senior UX Designer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Walt Disney Company is looking for a Senior UX Designer to join their Disney Digital Entertainment team on an ambitious new project. The role involves creating player-first experiences for interactive games, collaborating with top-class industry talent to develop engaging user interfaces based on Disney's iconic characters and worlds.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Lead UX Designer and other stakeholders to create a cohesive, player-first experience
- Be a hands-on developer in the creation of content for several interactive games and experiences based on Disney’s robust portfolio of characters and worlds including Disney/Pixar, 20th Century, Marvel and Star Wars
- Create wireframes and iterate on UI and UX systems and features
- Support bug fixes, implementation and UI layout creation using Unreal Engine and UEFN
- Participate in playtests to observe the effectiveness of UI usability, and collaborate with your lead and other stakeholders to improve user experiences
- Collaborate with other developers to design and build user interfaces that enhance the players gameplay experience
- Write, update, and maintain detailed design documentation
Skills
- 5 years of game development experience, including at least one shipped game
- Developed content using Unreal Engine and/or UEFN
- Comfortable working in an iterative, feedback-driven team environment
- Strong team collaboration skills, working with designers and engineers to ensure the best user experience
- Have familiarity with developing products on various gaming platforms – Console/PC and Mobile
- Excel at partnering and collaborating with key stakeholders, working through challenging problems and reaching consensus to achieve great things
- Have a special appreciation of Disney's IP, including characters and lore, linear media and movie franchises, theme parks design, and overall aesthetics
- Enjoy creative problem-solving and building something new and innovative
- Have experience creating UI mockups and wireframes using Figma
- Understand best practices to create smooth and engaging user experiences
- Can communicate and understand what makes a clean, friendly, and engaging UI for games
- Understand best standards and practices of user interface design within a variety of different game styles
- Have expertise at working with 3D game engines and understanding the strengths and limitations in regards to user interface design (big plus if you are familiar setting up UI materials)
- Able to communicate effectively with other teams and groups
- A Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or equivalent combination of education and experience
