[Remote] Senior Tax Planning & Operations Specialist (EA)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Tina Worrell CPA PLLC is a modern, 100% remote tax advisory firm seeking a Senior Tax Planning & Operations Specialist. The role involves delivering high-level tax planning and advisory services, managing technology implementations, and ensuring exceptional client service while building scalable processes and workflows.
Responsibilities
- Become a trusted partner to our Director of Tax Strategy, delivering consistent technical and operational support
- Deliver high-quality tax planning, research, and advisory work that creates measurable value for clients
- Own the documentation of scalable processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures
- Become our internal expert on the firm’s technology — including new technology platforms — and help it actually deliver for clients
- Contribute ideas that improve efficiency, consistency, and the client experience
- Prepare tax projections and scenario analyses
- Identify proactive planning opportunities for individuals and businesses
- Conduct federal and state tax research
- Prepare planning reports and client recommendations, and participate in client advisory meetings
- Prepare complex individual and business tax returns as needed
- Assist with IRS and state notice resolution
- Support the year-round planning process from data gathering through implementation
- Coordinate planning deliverables, deadlines, and client follow-up
- Develop, document, and improve SOPs, templates, and workflows
- Keep planning engagements running consistently and efficiently
- Own the firm’s tax technology and AI-assisted workflows as our internal expert
- Help implement, optimize, and roll out practice management and tax software
- Train teammates on new systems and best practices
- Automate routine work while owning the accuracy and quality clients depend on
- Connect our stack — tax software, workflow systems, and CRM
Skills
- Enrolled Agent (EA)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of public accounting tax experience
- Strong federal individual and business tax knowledge
- Experience preparing complex individual and business tax returns
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Comfortable learning and adopting new technology
- Tax planning and advisory experience
- Experience supporting or coordinating tax planning engagements
- Canopy, Intuit ProConnect, and QuickBooks Online experience
- Experience implementing new software or improving operational processes
- Advanced Excel skills
