[Remote] Senior Manager Manufacturing Engineering
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Judge Group is seeking an experienced engineering leader for a fully remote role to manage a team focused on developing and industrializing manufacturing processes for electromechanical cable assemblies. The role involves overseeing the transition from prototype builds to high-volume production while driving continuous improvement initiatives and collaborating with various teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing, process development, and automation engineers
- Manage workload distribution, performance coaching, and talent development to achieve business objectives
- Oversee the design, development, validation, and implementation of manufacturing processes and production tooling
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process capability, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction
- Support product design teams by providing manufacturability guidance and optimizing designs for production
- Coordinate prototype builds, process validation activities, and production readiness efforts
- Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions
- Collaborate with supplier and operations teams to assess manufacturing capabilities and ensure production requirements are met
- Serve as the primary interface between engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and program management teams
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities based on business needs and timelines
- Provide project status updates and technical presentations to senior leadership
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across geographically dispersed teams to support new product introduction and production growth
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Extensive experience in manufacturing, process development, or product industrialization within a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Several years of experience leading global engineering teams and managing technical projects
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Knowledge of production tooling, automation systems, process validation, and quality standards
- Familiarity with industry workmanship and assembly standards
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency with common business and engineering software applications
- Experience with cable assembly, electromechanical products, or related manufacturing processes preferred
- Experience supporting global manufacturing operations and cross-functional teams is highly desirable
