[Remote] Senior Director of Business Development
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Sensory, Inc. is a pioneer in edge-based Artificial Intelligence, specializing in voice, sound, and vision technologies. They are seeking a Senior Director or VP of Business Development & Licensing to drive commercial growth by structuring complex IP licensing deals for their innovative AI solutions in smart home devices and IoT platforms.
Responsibilities
- Drive IP & Software Licensing: Own the end-to-end sales cycle, from initial pipeline generation to executing high-value technology licensing agreements for Sensory’s core product suites ( TrulyHandsfree, TrulyNatural, TrulySecure Sound and Voice, SoundID , and VoiceHub )
- Leverage Your Network: Tap into existing relationships with Tier-1 consumer electronics OEMs, semiconductor partners, wearables manufacturers, and IoT innovators to uncover new revenue streams
- Draft & Negotiate Contracts: Take a hands-on approach to the deal-making process. You will be responsible for directly drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex software licenses, evaluation agreements, and software license agreements (SLAs) in alignment with our corporate and legal strategies
- Monetize Emerging Tech: Position Sensory’s hybrid AI solutions—such as our offline speech-to-text engines acting as private edge-layers for Large Language Models (LLMs)—to companies looking to reduce cloud compute costs and latency
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Sensory's engineering and product teams to translate market feedback into product requirements and ensure custom deliverables align with commercial commitments
- Internal Feedback Loop: Serve as the voice of the customer by conveying market product requirements and roadmap insights back into the product and engineering teams
Skills
- 8+ years of business development or technology licensing experience, specifically within speech recognition, natural language processing (NLP), voice biometrics, or embedded software/semiconductors
- Proven ability to independently draft and structure software licensing agreements
- A proven track record of account management and effectively selling complex technology to senior stakeholders, across product management, engineering and executive leadership at major consumer electronics corporations and enterprise solution companies
- Ability to clearly explain the value proposition of edge vs. cloud computing, low-footprint DSP/MCU optimization, and privacy-by-design architecture to both business executives and engineering teams
- Experience thriving in a remote environment with minimal oversight, possessing the drive to advance deals through long enterprise sales cycles
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
