[Remote] Senior Analyst Population Health
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Legacy Health is a compassionate and caring hospital that is seeking a Senior Analyst for their Population Health department. The role involves overseeing data collection methodologies and analytics solutions to improve health care outcomes, while also providing technical direction and mentoring to other analysts.
Responsibilities
- Determine data collection methodology, design and maintenance of data collection systems, and data analysis and reporting
- Oversee the development, implementation, and ongoing utilization of a population health analytics solution and methodology
- Analyze health care data, such as estimating the need for health care services, evaluating and improving payment methodologies, estimating the impact of changes in delivery and payment systems, ensuring integration and coordination of various initiatives to ensure consistency where possible and measuring health care outcomes
- Respond to requests for complex data extraction and analytics, produce and interpret data summaries, reports, and dashboards, interface with internal and external customers, participate on and lead cross-functional project teams, support various research projects within the Division, maintain subject matter expertise in select aspects of both health care claims and Electronic Health Record data and data systems, and participate in special projects as needed
- Provide technical direction and consultation to management and staff and represent the Population Health division on planning teams charged with collection and dissemination of information related to the above activities
- Serve as a lead for other Population Health Analysts, providing direction, mentoring, and project oversight
Skills
- Master's degree in public health, health administration, business, or social sciences or related discipline
- Minimum five years' experience to include data, statistical and quantitative analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, and fact-based management to drive decision making
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools and platforms, such as Microsoft Fabric and Power BI
- Experience with relational databases, including SAS and/or SQL programming
- Experience working in health services research or health care policy
- Experience working with health care data systems, such as claims data or electronic health records
- Comprehensive knowledge of business analytics
- Project management and ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects
- Strong communication skills, including technical and non-technical report writing, and oral presentation to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local public health care programs, including coverage policy and purchasing strategies
- Preferred experience in other languages, including Python and/or R
