[Remote] Direct Marketing Data Assistant

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The University of Virginia is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the role of Direct Marketing Data Assistant. This role involves coordinating and executing data sets for the University Annual Giving & Stewardship Direct Marketing team, focusing on pulling donor data and generating audience lists for multi-channel appeals.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate and complex data lists (approximately 350 per year) for multi-channel marketing efforts
• Build and maintain audience segmentation queries in Snowflake for direct mail, email, social media, and text campaigns
• Execute data requests on time to ensure that Direct Marketing appeals drop on schedule
• Assist in data validation for campaigns, including verifying donor records within Salesforce Ascend and the legacy system Ellucian Advance
• Investigate and troubleshoot data issues by analyzing query logic and applying problem-solving skills
• Document query logic and maintain clear workflows for repeatable processes
• Ensure that information security and privacy standards are met, and that data governance standards are upheld
• Participate in the Office of Engagement, University Annual Giving & Stewardship, Operations, and External Relations meetings as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Skills

• Bachelor's degree with one year of experience
• Ability to work independently and meet overlapping deadlines
• Solid understanding of relational database concepts and ability to write SQL queries involving joins, CTEs, and conditional filtering
• Comfortable troubleshooting query results and explaining logic clearly
• Ability to format and organize large datasets in Excel while maintaining data integrity
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks independently
• Proficient in computer applications, strong working knowledge of constituent databases (CRM) and software programs, especially SQL
• Experience with SQL, Oracle Database, Snowflake, Excel, Salesforce CRM, Ellucian Advance
