[Remote] REMOTE: Engineering Manager - EPC Division

LONGHORN STAFFING SOLUTIONS is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead engineering execution across EPC projects from proposal through construction. This hands-on leadership role involves driving engineering delivery, project performance, and technical quality across multiple concurrent projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering input for EPC pursuits, including estimating strategy, scope development, scheduling, staffing plans, and proposal execution
- Serve as technical lead across proposals and active projects, including technology selection, execution strategy, and constructability input
- Review and approve engineering estimates and bid packages to ensure full scope coverage and accuracy
- Oversee engineering execution from proposal through detailed engineering and construction phases
- Partner closely with Project Managers to ensure full lifecycle project success (cost, schedule, quality, safety, customer satisfaction)
- Drive project controls including cost tracking, scheduling, QC procedures, and internal review discipline
- Monitor labor reporting, utilization, and project performance metrics; implement corrective actions as needed
- Conduct line-item project reviews with Project Managers to ensure alignment with budgets and execution goals
- Optimize engineering staffing and resource allocation across multiple projects to maximize efficiency and profitability
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of engineering staff
- Participate in performance management, including evaluations and recommendations for advancement or corrective action
- Support development and refinement of engineering standards, procedures, and best practices
- Identify and implement new tools, technologies, and process improvements to enhance execution
- Collaborate across Business Development, Finance, HR, Construction, and Operations
- Maintain strong client relationships and support successful project delivery and continuity
Skills
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of EPC, engineering, or industrial project execution experience
- EPC Project Management or Project Engineering background with full lifecycle responsibility (proposal through construction)
- Proven experience managing cost, schedule, estimating, and project controls on complex energy infrastructure projects
- Background in midstream, energy, or industrial construction environments
- Experience supporting or leading engineering teams within EPC project structures
- Strong leadership presence with ability to transition from execution-focused PM role into engineering-focused leadership
- Working knowledge of engineering/project management tools and systems
- Communication, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills
