[Remote] Remote Director of Finance

This strategic leadership role involves overseeing a portfolio of K-12 school clients, providing expert financial guidance, and leading a high-performing team of finance professionals.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals while overseeing a portfolio of K-12 school clients and ensuring exceptional financial consulting and service delivery
- Serve as a strategic financial advisor by partnering with school leadership on budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, board reporting, audits, cash flow management, and long-term financial strategy
- Build strong client relationships by providing proactive financial consulting, solving complex business challenges, and delivering exceptional customer service
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial processes, implement scalable systems, and enhance operational efficiency across client engagements
- Establish financial reporting standards, quality assurance initiatives, and best practices that promote consistency, compliance, and operational excellence
- Support organizational growth through client onboarding, strategic initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts
Skills
- Experience providing financial leadership within K-12 education along with client-facing consulting or outsourced CFO/accounting services supporting multiple organizations or school systems
- Demonstrated success leading financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, audits, board reporting, and long-range financial planning
- Proven ability to build trusted client relationships while leading and developing high-performing finance teams
- Experience utilizing enterprise financial systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Workday, Vena, or similar ERP platforms
- Exceptional leadership, communication, consulting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple client priorities in a remote environment
