[Remote] RECRUITER
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. City of Amarillo is seeking a Recruiter to support their recruitment efforts within the organization. The role involves attracting, sourcing, and evaluating candidates for various municipal positions, as well as onboarding newly hired employees.
Responsibilities
- Assists with promotional and transfer paperwork
- Contacts hiring department once applicant has successfully completed all phases of the pre-employment process
- Coordinates employment start date with the hiring department and employee
- Schedules new employees for processing
- Performs customer service to internal and external customers
- Assists applicants with Workday applications on computer
- Assist in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies for department positions
- Respond to inquiries from candidates regarding job opportunities, application processes, and status updates
- Maintain accurate records of all applicant communications and recruitment activities in the applicant tracking system (ATS)
- Support the creation of job descriptions and job advertisements
- Assist with pre-employment checks, including background checks, reference checks, and drug testing
- Organize and participate in career fairs and recruitment events to promote job opportunities
- Onboard new hires, ensuring that all documentation is completed, and orientation is scheduled
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and assist with workforce planning
- Continuously improve the applicant experience by addressing inquiries, providing feedback, and ensuring a positive impression of the organization
- Cover front reception area for lunches and time off
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have reliable transportation to attend job fairs at remote locations
- Must have the ability to multi-task
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic understanding of recruiting and hiring processes
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Previous experience in recruiting, administrative, or customer service role
