[Remote] Project Manager - Power Generation
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Enerflex Ltd. is a premier integrated global provider of energy infrastructure solutions. The Project Manager for power generation will develop technical project designs and lead engineering groups to produce the final product while ensuring compliance with company standards and customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- The Project Manager will lead all other Engineering Groups (process, instrumentation, controls, design & drafting, vessels and purchasing) in performing all tasks required to support the production of the final product including installation and commissioning
- The project manager will also lead all commercial discussions with the customer regarding change orders, pricing, change orders, schedules and invoicing
- Support proposal activity to generate estimates and schedules for equipment supply and service agreements
- Post project award, liaise with the Enerflex Applications Team to hand over all data used for estimating and understand the background and particulars associated with the project
- Identify the customer’s requirements (technical/products problems, execution issues) and bring effective solutions
- Clarify technical issues pre and post order with the customer (technical clarification, answer technical comments, deviation requests) and achieve a resolution
- Attend certain internal and external meetings (kick off, coordination, HAZOP etc.)
- Develop the project P&ID’s and requisition all major equipment and coordinate all other deliverables
- Participate in all aspects of design review with the project team
- Ensure proper understanding of the Customer’s technical needs inside Enerflex
- Generate the engineered Bill of Material for the assigned project items
- Coordinate engineering activities across multiple departments and locations (mainly Houston and Calgary)
- Lead new product development activities
- Provide technical support to customers and branch offices for PG equipment in service
- Ensure accuracy of job quality requirements
- Perform P&ID walk down of final package to ensure compliance with design
- Manage and schedule drawing list submitted to the customer
- Follow up on technical and commercial issues through shipment and commissioning as needed
- Support the correct scheduling and monitor the progress of vendor drawings
- Monitor and control costs
- Coordinate and approve all design & drafting deliverables
- Technical interface with buyers to confirm BOM accuracy for all assigned items and direct procurement activities
- Technical interface with shop personnel for all assigned items
- Identify all testing specifications and signoff on all testing activities
- Support activities for all installation, commissioning, and post commissioning activities including warranty issues
- Network and develop relationships with customers to further the Enerflex brand reputation and promise
Skills
- Up to 30% travel required
- Engineering or Engineering Technology degree or equivalent background
- Minimum five (5) years of experience with power generation equipment, process equipment or in manufacturing environments for engineered to ordered equipment
- Strong and analytical problem-solving skills
- Solid customer-oriented skills (communicator, explainer)
- Basic knowledge of the fundamentals required by the equipment used in our products: Mechanical Design, Instrumentation & Controls, Team Effectiveness, Solid IT skills, Fluency in English, Teamwork attitude
- Experience with installation and construction of power islands
- Electric knowledge of generators and switchgear
- Experience with reciprocating engines or Turbines
