[Remote] Project Finance Associate
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Delphos is a premier financial advisory firm specializing in capital raising and transaction advisory for emerging and frontier markets. The Project Finance Associate will support capital raising and financial advisory mandates with a focus on project-financed energy and infrastructure transactions.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain project finance and corporate finance models
- Support debt and equity capital raising and transaction advisory mandates, inclusive of energy and other infrastructure projects
- Conduct financial, commercial, and contractual due diligence on prospective new opportunities
- Analyse project agreements and financing documents
- Prepare client- and investor-facing materials, including teasers, information memoranda, and other written deliverables
- Support investor outreach, lender engagement, and overall market distribution and transaction execution
- Perform market research, valuation analysis, and strategic advisory support
Skills
- 2-3 years full-time work experience in the financial assessment of energy and other infrastructure projects (transport & logistics, ICT, other assets that are typically project-financed)
- Robust understanding of project finance, including strong understanding of the core contracts inherent in the development (PPA, EPC, O&M, Grid Connection, Supply) and financing of power projects
- Demonstrable financial modeling skills. Applicant should be able to build a pro-forma financial model for a typical project-financed transaction with minimal oversight
- Strong foundation in corporate finance and M&A: able to review and analyze financial statements, perform basic valuation analysis, prepare three-statement financial models
- Understanding of a typical capital raising process. Ideally, Applicant has experience in raising capital (developer/advisor-side) or extending capital (investor/lender-side) to greenfield infrastructure projects
- Basic technical understanding of clean energy asset types (solar, wind, BESS). Tax equity understanding not required
- Strong accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP/IFRS
- Strong communicator, both written and verbally. Applicant must be able to work with the deal team to produce concise, well-written marketing documents for transactions (teaser, information memorandums, RFI responses)
- Comfortable working in an investor- and client-facing role
- Candidates must be eligible to work on USTDA-funded projects. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or otherwise authorized to work in the United States consistent with applicable USTDA nationality requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically PPT, Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Preferably has experience working internationally and across cultures
- Spanish (or other) language skills are a bonus
