[Remote] Principal Product Manager, Comet Planning - East Coast Remote

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Cimpress Technology is focused on optimizing the manufacturing and delivery of customized products through its Comet Planning system. They are seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the product vision and execution, ensuring efficient production processes and high-quality outcomes across their network.

Responsibilities

• Define the Planning Vision: Create and own a 2–3 year roadmap for Comet Planning. You will drive how we evolve from plant-specific manual interventions to an autonomous, network-wide optimization engine that handles massive scale and complexity
• Cross-Functional Influence & Alignment: As a Principal PM, you will operate at the intersection of Engineering, Program Management, Design, and Physical Operations. You will build consensus among senior plant leaders and global fulfillment executives, translating deep technical constraints into clear, high-impact business outcomes
• Bridge Digital Logic and Physical Reality: This is a technical product role. You will translate complex mathematical constraints (labor pools, machine changeovers, batching, and ganging logic) into scalable APIs and intuitive UI workflows (ScheduleCore). You will ensure that our digital 'plan' is actually executable on the factory floor
• Deliver for Real-World Manufacturing: You’ll be directly involved in adoption of Comet Planning in major facilities across the Cimpress network. Ensure the planning engine handles diverse constraints like changeovers, labor pools, batching, ganging, and shipping SLAs
• Lead a High-Impact Team: Provide mentorship and direction to a small team of product managers, ensuring high-quality execution and strategic alignment
• Lead with Data: Design feedback loops to measure how our planning decisions directly impact key manufacturing and shipping metrics

Skills

• 8+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record in manufacturing or complex optimization engines
• A formal education (BS/MS) in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related engineering field is highly appreciated
• Comfortable reasoning about complex systems and optimization algorithms
• Enjoy solving 'messy,' real-world problems where digital logic meets physical constraints (labor, machines, shipping deadlines)
• Strong 'Build-versus-Buy' DNA and the ability to distinguish between necessary short-term features and long-term platform evolution
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to translate complex technical constraints into clear business value for executive stakeholders and plant partners
