The Principal Analyst HRIS role serves as a functional expert for the HRIS environment, collaborating with various departments to design and enhance HR systems while ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain optimal functionality and performance for the HRIS environment
- Recommends and implements HRIS strategies, policies, and procedures to support operational efficiency and data integrity
- Serves as thought leader and makes recommendations regarding functional solutions focused on optimized system usage and creating streamlined systems with reduced complexity
- Collaborates closely with stakeholders to assess business needs, prioritize system enhancements supporting HR programs, and coordinate with vendors for efficient implementation and issue resolution. Creates business analysis documentation
- Collaborates and fosters a strong partnership with IT, Finance, and Payroll to ensure a strong governance of a common system. Build roadmap to uptake new functionality in product releases
- Lead complex HRIS changes including enterprise redesigns, acquisitions, major configuration overhauls, and regulatory impacts
- Define functional testing strategies (unit, end ‑ to ‑ end, regression, UAT) and ensure production readiness
- Oversee data integrations between HRIS and dependent systems (payroll, benefits vendors, finance, identity management, reporting platforms)
- Define and enforce HR data standards, governance models, and data quality controls
- Partner closely with IT on interface design, middleware strategy, testing protocols, and production governance
- Drives adoption and usage of solutions, changes, and new launches
- Engages in research to maintain awareness of current trends in HR technology to lead and influence with industry best practices, proven methodologies, scalability, and automation to support company growth
- Provides solutions management structure and leadership to multi-functional project teams
- Assesses need for any system reconfigurations and executes as required
- Researches and implements new open-source and commercial tools, technologies, and methodologies

- Proven experience in roles managing HRIS/ERP systems and delivering strategic solutions
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to architect and implement complex systems
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to drive initiatives and influence organizational outcomes through technology
- Proven ability to work with confidential HR data while upholding a high standard of integrity and data privacy compliance
- Proficient in generating and interpreting HR and operational reports using tools such as Excel, Power BI, and HRIS-specific reporting features
- Skilled in system configuration and updates, applying business requirements to optimize functionality and improve user experience. Creates documentation of business analysis
- Experienced in system testing, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression, and upgrade validation; able to document findings and recommend resolutions independently
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills for use in issue identification and corrective action recommendations
- Posses' deep knowledge of multiple core HR modules within an HRIS
- 10+ years of experience supporting complex HR systems in a multi-state and multi-entity environment
- Implementation, management, and/or maintenance of business systems including a SaaS HCM solution at least 3 years required
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Human Resources, or related field is preferred
- Oracle Cloud implementation certification achieved via Oracle University is strongly preferred
