[Remote] Platform Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Platform Engineer will work at the intersection of infrastructure, reliability, and developer experience, focusing on improving system performance, reliability, and scalability while collaborating with engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate scalable, reliable platform infrastructure supporting engineering teams
- Develop automation for deployment, configuration, and service lifecycle management
- Support and improve system reliability through monitoring, alerting, and incident response
- Participate in on-call rotation and troubleshoot production issues
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve service performance and operational readiness
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure resources
- Maintain and improve CI/CD and build systems
- Perform core infrastructure operations such as backup, restore, and patching
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Experience with Kubernetes in production environments, including Helm
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Ansible
- Proficiency in Bash and familiarity with one programming language such as Go, Python, or Java
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools
- Solid Linux fundamentals and troubleshooting experience
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
- Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or TiDB
- Experience with Redis, RabbitMQ, or Elasticsearch
- Exposure to Kubernetes networking or service mesh technologies such as Linkerd or Calico
- Familiarity with distributed systems concepts such as leader election and locking
- Experience working in microservices-based environments
