[Remote] Legal Research Assistant (Long Term Contract / Possible Permanent in the future)

They are seeking a Legal Research Assistant to support attorneys by conducting in-depth legal research and gathering critical case-related information.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using PACER, Westlaw, and LexisNexis
- Review court filings, case records, statutes, regulations, and legal opinions
- Prepare research summaries, reports, and supporting documentation for attorneys
- Track and organize case-related information and research findings
- Assist with litigation support and case preparation efforts
- Maintain accuracy and confidentiality when handling sensitive legal information
- Respond to research requests in a timely manner while managing multiple priorities
- Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to support ongoing matters
Skills
- 2 years of legal research experience supporting attorneys
- Expertise in using computer-based research tools: Lexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, Intelligize, Practical Law, Capital IQ, Deal Point Data, VitalLaw, Pitchbook, Docket Alarm, HeinOnline, and more
- Broad and thorough knowledge of legal, business and financial information sources
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Excellent analytical, research, and organizational skills
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- Availability to work Tuesday through Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM EST, with flexible Saturday hours
- Minimum of 2 years of legal research experience supporting attorneys or legal teams
- Advanced proficiency with PACER, Westlaw, and LexisNexis
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, court systems, and litigation processes
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload effectively
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote setting
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
