[Remote] Data Scientist & AI/ML SME

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. PlanIT Group, LLC is seeking a Data Scientist & AI/ML SME to support their cybersecurity risk team. The role focuses on streamlining processes, improving risk detection, and enhancing decision-making through data-driven solutions by automating workflows and building predictive models.

Responsibilities

• Create, configure, and deploy automated systems combining AI, ML, RPA bots, Microsoft Power Tools, Databricks, and Splunk to support real-time or near-real-time risk monitoring
• Analyze large, complex datasets (e.g., logs, vulnerability scans, threat intelligence) to uncover patterns and anomalies. Understand and analyze repetitive, time-consuming business processes to determine recommended automation solution using Postal tools
• Write and update code, build custom scripts, integrate AI models into existing infrastructure like Splunk, Databricks, ServiceNow, and Microsoft Power Tools to automate manual risk assessment and reporting processes and improve efficiency and accuracy. Build dashboards and visualizations to communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Monitor and optimize automation performance, troubleshoot errors, and ensure system scalability
• Collaborate with cybersecurity analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into data solutions

Skills

• Experience: 5+ years
• Programming: Proficiency in multiple scripting / coding languages, and API use
• Technology Stack: Tools are listed in priority order. Experience with Microsoft Power Tools, GRC tools, Databricks, Splunk, SharePoint, ServiceNow ticket generation, Okta automation, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), AI/ML libraries, database administration, and low-code/no-code tools. Experience with an RPA (Robotic Process Automation) platform is a plus
• Data Analysis: Ability to analyze large datasets, leveraging multiple tools, to uncover patterns for process optimization. Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex data ingestion and parsing issues
• Process Management: Knowledge of Business Process Management (BPM) and workflow optimization
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, a related field, or equivalent experience
• Security Experience: Exposure to network security or cybersecurity
• Pass a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check
• All candidates must be a US Citizen or permanent status Green Card holder
• Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
• All overtime must be pre-approved in writing by the client manager or his/her designated representative
• Agency will not be reimbursed for overtime charges without previous written authorization. Authorized overtime will be reimbursed at straight time
• The enforced dress code is business casual, i.e., collared shirt with slacks for men, no skirts above the knee for women

Benefits

• If a candidate is given an interim clearance, continuation of employment is then based on the candidate receiving a sensitive clearance.
