[Remote] Learning Experience Designers-Online, Higher ED-Contract
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Six Red Marbles is seeking contract Learning Experience Designers to support a large-scale online course redesign project for a large public university. In this role, you will rebuild existing 16-week online courses into an 8-week format within the Canvas LMS, working from provided course materials and a structured design plan.
Responsibilities
- Rebuild existing 16-week online courses into 8-week format using a provided course design plan and the prior version of the course in Canvas
- Migrate and adapt course content, including text, media, assessments, and resources, to fit the compressed format while preserving instructional integrity
- Embed Panopto videos and other media assets as specified in the design plan
- Ensure all course components are complete, functional, and consistent before submission for review
- Apply instructional design best practices to ensure the 8-week course is as complete and coherent as possible based on available materials
- Use ChatGPT to help validate instructional accuracy, assess alignment between learning objectives and course content, and identify gaps or inconsistencies
- Complete a standardized course issues template documenting any content gaps, missing materials, misalignments between the design plan and prior course, or other concerns that affect the quality or completeness of the rebuild
- Your LXD Lead will review the issues template before it advances - you are responsible for thorough documentation, not for resolving the issues themselves
- Work within a defined, step-by-step production workflow with clear handoff points
- Maintain accurate status notes within the project management system
- Communicate proactively with your LXD Lead about blockers, questions, or anything that may affect your ability to meet deadlines
- Meet established turnaround expectations: approximately 5 days per course build, 2 days for Panopto embedding

- Reliable availability up to 40 hours per week through July 31, 2026
